Welcome from the Past President and Chairman of the Greensboro Rotary Board
Welcome to the Rotary Club of Greensboro website! In addition to supporting Rotary International’s program of “Building Communities/Bridging Continents,” our club focus this year is PARTICIPATION. We are fortunate to have over 300 great members who are passionately involved in a number of local and international projects. For example, our club has continued to take the lead in the annual Rotary Youth Leadership Program held in conjunction with the Center for Creative Leadership at Guilford College each year in July. We are also involved with the other Rotary Clubs in Greensboro in support of the Million Books campaign in our public schools, Shadow Day, and Big Sweep. In addition to our involvement with Calvin Wiley Elementary School, our club also tutors children at Sumner Elementary School. We have provided a number of sponsorships so that veterans of World War II can take Flight of Honor trips to Washington, D. C. to visit various memorials at no cost to them. Internationally, our members are personally involved in projects in Haiti, Kenya, and South Africa.
Our program committee consistently brings us informative and entertaining speakers on a wide variety of subjects – see the upcoming list of programs previewed in our weekly newsletter. Throughout the year we have evening socials at various locations in addition to our weekly Wednesday lunch meetings at the Greensboro Coliseum Atrium. Please join us and if you have any questions, give me a call! Ken Keller
