“poster child” of the sort of manufacturing
companies regions all over the country want
to attract. This company chose the Triad to
locate and build its newest operation. What is
Caterpillar building in the huge building on
Union Cross Road in Winston-Salem? How
big is “giant?” And how did Caterpillar decide
on building their facility in Winston-Salem? If

Rusty Davis has been with Caterpillar
for 36 years. He began as a Shear Operators
Helper and advanced through virtually every
phase of the manufacturing operation. He
has been involved in the management of
three other Caterpillar plants, including one
in Mexico.
